Sometimes you need to upload a file to your WordPress blog which is more than 2M, but your default file upload limit does not allow you to do so. Editing .htaccess file

You will see different methods on different websites, but this will definitely work 99% time. First, find .htaccess file in your site’s root directory and open it in edit mode. Now add the following lines of PHP code to it.

php_value upload_max_filesize 64M
php_value post_max_size 64M
php_value max_execution_time 300
php_value max_input_time 300

Now you can see in your media uploader that the value has changed to 64M.
