Sometimes you need to upload a file to your WordPress blog which is more than 2M, but your default file upload limit does not allow you to do so. For example, if you want to upload music, video or any ebook written by you which is more than two 2M, this limit actually does create a problem, and you’ve to create an account on online storages for uploading your file. So how to do it? In this article, I will tell you the simplest, easiest and almost 100% working method to increase WordPress Upload Limit. I will raise the limit to 64M (which I recommend), but you can also increase it by asking your Hosting Provider. So let’s see how to increase WordPress upload limit.
How to Increase WordPress Upload Limit
Editing .htaccess file
You will see different methods on different websites, but this will definitely work 99% time. First, find .htaccess file in your site’s root directory and open it in edit mode. Now add the following lines of PHP code to it.
php_value upload_max_filesize 64M php_value post_max_size 64M php_value max_execution_time 300 php_value max_input_time 300
Now you can see in your media uploader that the value has changed to 64M.
Using WordPress Plugin
If you don’t want to do all those ‘Cody things’, or you have any problem in doing it, you can use WordPress plugins to it. You can download Increase Upload Max Filesize plugin for it. In this plugin, there are more methods to increase upload limit.
